Generating Video

With everyone talking about getting away on holiday soon now that the weather has warmed up I was reminded of a job I did last summer in Berlin for Generator Hostels when they opened their latest great place to stay.

Shot by myself and edited by Generator Hostels.

3 festivals in 1 week.

Now that the weather has improved (supposedly) we are into the outdoor festival period.  This year looks to be a busy one for myself with lots of my annual events not long away now and even some new ones that I’ll be working at for the first time.

As a taste of things to come I recently shot at Maker Faire UK, Bishop Auckland Food Festival and Gateshead International Festival of Theatre all within the space of 1 week, and here are a couple of shots from each of them.

The Return of Colmcille

On a stunning summers day in Early June I arrived in the beautiful city of Derry/Londonderry to work as the official photographer of The Return of Colmcille, a large-scale extravaganza taking place as part of the UK City of Culture festivities.  Produced by outdoor art experts Walk the Plank and written by Frank Cottrell Boyce, the writer of the Olympic opening ceremony, visitors could expect “storytelling on a grand scale, music, art, comedy, procession, performance and fireworks during this once in a lifetime weekend”.

My thanks again to the good people at Walk The Plank for inviting me along.

Better late than never….

…. Happy New Year!

Ok, so this isn’t the first post of the year but it the first post of NYE related photos.  Here’s a couple of my favourite pics from the 2012 new years eve parade in Newcastle, and one of the fireworks, because who doesn’t like fireworks?

Birthday Blaze

For those of you who missed the spectacle of fireworks, witches, victorian pickpockets, light shows, dancers, royal visitors, and free cake last weekend, all I can say is you missed a treat.  It was of course all in celebration of the Theatre Royal’s 175th birthday, and what a great party it was for anyone who wanted to come.

Enchanted Parks

Now in it’s 5th year, Enchanted Parks is an outdoor arts event held in Gatesheads’s Saltwell Park over 5 nights every December.  Produced by Newcastle Gateshead Initiative, it brings together not only fantastic regional artists and performers but, also gives emerging student talent from the universities a chance to shine (excuse the pun).

Visit Newcastle Gateshead

I should really have posted this earlier, but I’ll hold up my hands and admit I’m not the best at keeping my blogs up to date.

Over 2 days, at 11 Locations, with 7 models, 2 clients, 1 stylist and my assistant we produced a whole new batch of photography for marketing Newcastle Gateshead to the rest of the UK as a great place to come and shop, eat, drink or just soak up the sights.

Here’s a little taster of what we did.
