The Return of Colmcille

On a stunning summers day in Early June I arrived in the beautiful city of Derry/Londonderry to work as the official photographer of The Return of Colmcille, a large-scale extravaganza taking place as part of the UK City of Culture festivities.  Produced by outdoor art experts Walk the Plank and written by Frank Cottrell Boyce, the writer of the Olympic opening ceremony, visitors could expect “storytelling on a grand scale, music, art, comedy, procession, performance and fireworks during this once in a lifetime weekend”.

My thanks again to the good people at Walk The Plank for inviting me along.

Navaho Coffee

A very different shoot from the one in the previous post was for a local independent coffee shop on it’s opening day.  Navaho Coffee opened it’s doors recently to serve the thousands of workers on the UK’s largest office park (Cobalt Business Park).

Great North Swim

The UKs biggest open water swim at took place at the end of June in the chilly waters of Lake Windermere.  Although problems due to the terrible weather forced the cancellation of the first 2 days of racing for safety reasons, the mood on the final day was still certainly better than the weather.

Here’s a handful of the shots of the brave competitors taken from both land and from speedboat.

Clarks Eggs

Seeing as it’s Easter I thought an egg based blog post would be appropriate.

Acumen Trust

The Acumen Development Trust was set up to support people and communities in the North East with training, employment and social enterprise.  As part of a professional rebranding project I’ve started work on photographing the wide variety of good work they do across the region.

In the field.

It’s always great to shoot for a new client, especially one as big as 3 the mobile phone network, as part of their summer field marketing campaign.
